Khalid Saleh, the hospital spokesperson, told journalists Friday the crew arrived for a checkup after a pas-senger from Thailand on a previous flight was quarantined in Papua immediately upon arrival for the virus.
“They were worried because they were in contact with the passenger. The crews were immediately hospital-ized Friday evening,” he said.
Khalid said the crew, including the pilot, co-pilot, technicians and stewardesses, had normal body tempera-tures ranging between 36-37 degree Celcius. Two were diagnosed with regular colds.
However, they were still taken to an isolation ward in accordance with the standard procedures for treating a dangerous disease.
Blood samples and throat swabs taken from the crew have been delivered to the provincial health laboratory at the medical faculty of Hasanuddin University.
“We are waiting for the test results. In the mean time, we are giving them Tamiflu just in case that passenger in Jayapura tests positive for H1N1,” he said.

HATFIELD - Luchtvaartgigant BAE Systems heeft twee gebruikte BAe 146’s onder weten te brengen bij Indonesische maatschappijen. Volgens de Britse onderneming blijkt het Aziatische land een goede afzetmarkt te zijn voor de viermotorige straaltoestellen. Beide BAe 146’s zijn bedoeld voor het vervoer van passagiers.
BAE Systems leverde in juni al een BAe 146-200QT, een vrachtversie van de BAe 146, aan het Indonesische Nusantara Air Charter (NAC). Datzelfde NAC heeft nu een BAe 146-200 met 78 stoelen gekocht.
De tweede regional jet gaat naar chartermaatschappij Aviastar Mandiri. Dit toestel zal voornamelijk worden gebruikt voor chartervluchten in Borneo en Papua. Aviastar heeft het vliegtuig nodig als vervanging van een in april gecrashte BAe 146. Bij dat ongeluk in de hooglanden van Papua kwamen de zes inzittenden om.

Wat een geluk voor de passagiers, stel je voor dat hij ermee was opgehouden ;) Niettemin de tweede keer binnen korte tijd dat een wiel afbreekt/ losraakt van een vliegtuig van een Indonesische maatschappij.

Garuda en Mandala hebben 43 toestellen bij Airbus besteld. Garuda 18 stuks en Mandala 25 stuks. Verdere gegevens heb ik niet (bron Kompas 13 juli j.l.) . Als ze er markt voor hebben is dat prijstechnisch gezien natuurlijk wel slim, want momenteel draait de luchtvaart in het westen met verlies en zal de deur bij Airbus niet plat gelopen worden om te bestellen.

Ik heb het bericht tot nu toe alleen maar in het "Kompas" gelezen. In het lange artikel staan weinig details m.b.t. de order wel veel over de ongelukken die er de laatste maanden met Airbus zijn gebeurd.

First Airbus A319 registered SX-OAK in full Olympic Air colors

The first Airbus A319 for Olympic Air, registered SX-OAK, got painted in full company colors in SEN (Southend, UK) today. It was an ex Mandala Airlines plane registered PR-RMF (c/n 3317), built in November 2007. It was ferried from DXB (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) to SEN via MAN (Manchester, UK) and IOM (Isle of Man), registered as M-ABCK. It is leased by CIT Aerospace.

The first Airbus A319 for Olympic Air, registered SX-OAK, got painted in full company colors in SEN (Southend, UK) today. Volgens mij is er op de route Amsterdam – Jakarta v.v. niets te verdienen omdat er al door velen op bevlogen wordt. Volgens een Garuda insider op een ander forum is het inderdaad de bedoeling dat ze rond de zomer (seizoen) van 2010 gaan terugkeren naar Amsterdam. Aangezien de markt te klein is voor de B747-400 gaan ze dit met de A330-200 (of wellicht de -300) met een technische tussenstop in de zandbak doen. Dit zou volgens het verhaal of Dubai of Abu Dhabi moeten zijn. In de toekomst zou dan de nieuw geleverde B777's deze taak op zich moeten nemen.
Wanneer je toch een stop moet maken lijkt mij het persoonlijk niet onaardig om dit in de zandbak te doen om zo halverwege de vlucht de benen te strekken. Het zal mij niet verbazen dat wanneer deze route er komt het een succesje gaat worden. Zo niet dan zal ik dit berichtje over een jaartje of wat nog een keertje editen ;-)

Sinds ik directe vluchten nam, met de garuda 747-400, AMS - SIN direct, kreeg ik een vreselijke last van jet-lags, tot wel 12 dagen. Ik slik tegenwoordig Melatonine echter ik denk dat het effect van een tussenstop mijzelf zal verbazen. Maar wie weet heb ik na 2010 geen zin meer in Indonesia, gewoon naar Texel, of naar de Hortus Botanicus :-))

Throughout 2009, the airline plans to establish 18 new routes of which 10 have already been realized.

De overheden van de provincie Kalimantan Timur en de stad samarinda hebben besloten de bouw van de nieuwe luchthaven te Samarinda voor onbepaalde tijd stil te leggen. Het is namelijk gebleken dat de gunning van het contract van de bouw aan een aannemer en vijf onderaannemers zonder openbare inschrijving is gegund. Tevens hebben de aannemers geen enkele ervaring op het gebied van het bouwen van luchthavens. Een en ander is de uitkomst van onderzoeken die de overheden hebben gepleegd. Met de gevolgde procedure wordt de beslissing van de President KePres No. 80 tauhn 2003 overtreden. In deze kepres staat dat projecten met een waarde van boven de 50 miljoen Rupiah via openbare inschrijvingen gegund moeten worden. De prijs van de bouw van een luchthaven bij Sungai Siring te Noord samarinde is 995,781 miljard Rupiah. De overheid van kaltim heeft 110 miljard Rp van de begroting 2007 – 2009 voor de bouw van de luchthaven bestemd en de stad samarinda 60 miljard. Nadat de overheden de voortgang van de bouw hadden geëvolueerd kwamen ze tot de conclusie dat het het beste was het project stop te zetten. De aannemer PT Nuansacipta Realtindo (NR) en de onderaannemers PT Buluh Perindu, PT Istaka Karya, PT Karya Wiraputra Bontang, PT Graha Benua Etam, PT Suma Sarana, hebben slechts ervaring in het bouwen van wooncomplexen en in de mijnbouw.

De overheden van de provincie Kalimantan Timur en de stad samarinda hebben besloten de bouw van de nieuwe luchthaven te Samarinda voor onbepaalde tijd stil te leggen. Het is namelijk gebleken dat de gunning van het contract van de bouw aan een aannemer en vijf onderaannemers zonder openbare inschrijving is gegund. Tevens hebben de aannemers geen enkele ervaring op het gebied van het bouwen van luchthavens. Een en ander is de uitkomst van onderzoeken die de overheden hebben gepleegd. Met de gevolgde procedure wordt de beslissing van de President KePres No. 80 tauhn 2003 overtreden. In deze kepres staat dat projecten met een waarde van boven de 50 miljoen Rupiah via openbare inschrijvingen gegund moeten worden. De prijs van de bouw van een luchthaven bij Sungai Siring te Noord samarinde is 995,781 miljard Rupiah. De overheid van kaltim heeft 110 miljard Rp van de begroting 2007 – 2009 voor de bouw van de luchthaven bestemd en de stad samarinda 60 miljard. Nadat de overheden de voortgang van de bouw hadden geëvolueerd kwamen ze tot de conclusie dat het het beste was het project stop te zetten. De aannemer PT Nuansacipta Realtindo (NR) en de onderaannemers PT Buluh Perindu, PT Istaka Karya, PT Karya Wiraputra Bontang, PT Graha Benua Etam, PT Suma Sarana, hebben slechts ervaring in het bouwen van wooncomplexen en in de mijnbouw.

Die Jusman wil zeker ook minister in het komende kabinet blijven, daarom maar "Maaf "voor zijn incompetentie. Als je vind dat je gefaald hebt op de hoogste positie moet je toch iets anders gaan doen.

Turkish Airlines vliegt ook op Amsterdam vanaf Istanbul
Vanaf Amsterdam, Schiphol of Brussel Zaventem vliegt Turkish Airlines 3 x per dag naar Istanbul met goede doorverbinding naar diverse bestemmingen in Turkije, maar ook het Midden Oosten, Azië en Afrika, zoals Bangkok, Singapore of Nairobi.
Turkish is in april 2009 zelfs uitgeroepen tot beste airline van Zuid Europa door onderzoeksbureau Skytrax
Is misschien een leuk alternatief met een stop in Istanbul.

Merpati Opens Bid to Replace China Aircraft

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Merpati Nusantara Airlines plans to open bidding for the acquisition of MA-60 aircrafts this year, given that negotiations with China’s Xian Aircraft Industry Company LTD for their aircrafts remains in limbo.
“The talks between government are still ongoing, and we don’t know how long it will last,” Chief Director of Merpati Bambang Bhakti said on Thursday.
Merpati, serving routes to Indonesia’s remote areas need additional fleets to meet the rising demand of domestic air travel. “That is why expansion of the cannot be further delayed,” added Bambang.
The company is looking to buy six propeller planes this year and bidding has actually started in May, although the company said it was also waiting for the results of the government’s negotiations with China.
